...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE ATLANTIC COASTAL WATERS...



The areas affected include...

  Coastal Waters of Northern Puerto Rico out 10 NM...



At 342 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm,

capable of producing winds to around 30 knots near the coastal

waters of Aguadilla and Isabela. Another strong thunderstorm was

approaching the coastline from Toa Baja to Manati. These

thunderstorms were moving to the north-northwest at 5 knots.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek

safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.



Intense lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open

water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal

objects.
