...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM APPROACHING THE WATERS...



The areas affected include...

  Buzzards Bay...

  Nantucket Sound...

  Rhode Island Sound...

  Vineyard Sound...



At 818 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable

of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located

near Cuttyhunk Island, moving east at 25 knots.



Locations impacted include...

Rocky Point, Round Hill Point, Lamberts Cove, Buzzards Bay Entrance

Tower, Vineyard Sound, Cuttyhunk Island, Buzzards Bay, Cape Poge

Light, Woods Hole, and Edgartown Harbor.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Expect gusty winds to around 30 knots...briefly rough seas and

lightning strikes. Consider heading for safe harbor until this storm

passes.



Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the

open water stay below deck if possible and keep away from ungrounded

metal objects.
