A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...

  Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Maurepas...



At 725 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated a front, capable of producing

winds to around 30 knots. This front was located along a line

extending from 14 nm north of Madisonville to 21 nm northwest of

Montegut, moving east at 15 knots.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



This a front will likely produce winds to around 30 knots, and could

pose a serious hazard for boaters. A special marine warning may

eventually be required when this activity reaches the nearshore

waters. Boaters should consider heading for shore before these storms

arrive.
