* Special Marine Warning for...

  Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Maurepas...



* Until 345 AM CDT.



* At 244 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing

  waterspouts was located near Lake Maurepas. The severe thunderstorm

  was nearly stationary.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage

           vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  Lake Maurepas and Manchac.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Boaters should avoid waterspouts and never try to navigate near them.

Move to safe harbor or shelter immediately until the threat passes.
