STORM FORCE WIND WARNING FOR SOUTHERN AREA



SITUATION AT 0600UTC

Vigorous westerly flow associated with a trough near 61S135E 64S160E. Forecast

near 58S141E 64S167E at 211200UTC, near 55S151E 61S169E at 211800UTC and east

of area thereafter.



AREA AFFECTED

Bounded by 58S136E 56S138E 52S160E 64S160E 63S132E 58S136E.



FORECAST

Westerly quarter winds 34/47 knots, initially throughout the affected area

northeast of trough. Winds increasing to 45/55 knots within 240nm northeast of

trough until 210900UTC. Southwesterly quarter winds developing southwest of

trough within the affected area from 210900UTC. Winds easing below 34 knots

west of 151E by 220600UTC. Very rough to high seas, rising to very high in

storm force winds. Moderate to heavy swell.
