SITUATION At 1800 UTC a Tropical Low was centred within 25 nautical miles of latitude seventeen decimal seven south (17.7S) longitude one hundred and twenty two decimal six east (122.6E) Recent movement : west at 11 knots Maximum winds : 20 knots Central pressure: 1001 hPa The low is expected to develop quadrant gales in the next 24 hours and develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 36 to 48 hours. AREA AFFECTED Within 60 nautical miles in SW quadrant. FORECAST Maximum winds to 20 knots near the centre increasing to 35 knots by 1800 UTC 06 February. From 1800 UTC 6 February winds above 34 knots within 60 nautical miles in SW quadrant with very rough seas and moderate swell.
