SITUATION At 1800 UTC Tropical Low was centred within 25 nautical miles of latitude twelve decimal eight south (12.8S) longitude one hundred decimal seven east (100.7E) Recent movement : west at 6 knots Maximum winds : 35 knots Central pressure: 998 hPa The low is expected to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 12 hours. AREA AFFECTED Within 60 nautical miles of the centre. FORECAST Maximum winds to 35 knots near the centre increasing to 55 knots by 1800 UTC 23 December. Winds above 34 knots within 60 nautical miles in SE quadrant and within 60 nautical miles in SW quadrant and within 60 nautical miles in NW quadrant by 0600 UTC 23 December and within 60 nautical miles in NE quadrant by 0600 UTC 23 December with rough seas and moderate swell. Winds above 48 knots within 30 nautical miles in SE quadrant by 1800 UTC 23 December and within 30 nautical miles in SW quadrant by 1800 UTC 23 December with very rough seas.
